Muhammadu Buhari has been sworn in for his second term in office as the Nigerian President today Wednesday 29th day of May, 2019.
He vowed once more to fight the crippling security threats and remove corruption in Africa’s key economy.
The President, Muhammadu Buhari, who has been in power since 2015 and re-elected in February 2019, took the oath of office for a second four-year term in the capital Abuja.
Buhari said, “I do solemnly swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
The President in his oath pledged to be fair to all Nigerians and to serve, protect and to defend the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It entailed a red-carpet arrival flanked by bagpipers into a stadium packed with military guard of honour and dignitaries respectively.
